We’re so lucky to call Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire home, and as the days start to get longer and the nights lighter, there are endless opportunities to explore our colourful surroundings this spring. Why not take some inspiration from this blog and let us know what you get up to by tagging us in your social media posts using #RGU?
Enjoy the colours of spring
Take some time to relax in our beautifully bloomed parks and gardens. Take your pick from Seaton Park, Hazlehead Park, Duthie Park, or insta-worthy Johnston Gardens.
Our castles come alive
They really do look like they have stepped straight out of a fairytale! If you’re looking for a castle close to the city and one you can get to via bus, check out Dunnottar Castle or Crathes Castle.
Adventure is calling
With the warmer weather comes even more opportunity to discover the expansive great outdoors all around us. Do you know 4 of the UK’s 5 highest mountains are in Aberdeenshire? You can even get out on the water; try rowing, paddleboarding or surfing.
Pack a picnic
Head to a beach in Aberdeenshire or a park in the city or grab a takeaway from one of the epic foodie trucks along Aberdeen Beach. If you’d rather stay indoors for now, try Greyhope Bay and you might even spot dolphins play as you tuck into something delicious.
It’s the start of the festival season!
