5 things to do as a student in Aberdeen

Whether you’re living in Aberdeen for the first time or already live in our sparkling city, there’s plenty to keep you entertained in between attending university and studying. 1. Try the RGU ice cream at Mackie’s 19.2!

We bring you an exciting deal for the start of this new Academic Year for you to try out RGU’s very own ice cream! You will have the opportunity to try a scoop of our Honeyberry ice cream at Mackie’s 19.2 from Saturday 30 September – Saturday 07 October*.

RGU staff and students can enjoy 30% off all ice cream and food orders in the parlour during the week. And even if you don’t fancy trying the RGU flavour, you can still enjoy the discount to savour your old favourites!

2. Take on an outdoor adventure

There are epic outdoor adventures to enjoy in Aberdeen and nearby Aberdeenshire. Try surfing city centre waves, paddle boarding through sea coves, bagging Munros in the Cairngorms National Park, hitting the slopes at Snowsports Centres, or even conquering challenging cycling terrains.

Visit Dunnottar Castle – a dramatic castle ruin just 20 minutes from RGU or Balmoral Castle – the famous Scottish holiday home of the British Royal Family.
