Hi I’m Leon! I am currently a sixth year student at Cults Academy in Aberdeen. Like many, I am going through the stage in my life where I ‘m required to decide what I’m going to do with myself after I leave secondary school.. It can be an extremely exciting time in someone’s life or very daunting. This may be due to the fact that many young adults may feel unprepared to make the transition from school to university, or they may simply may not have a clue on what they want to study and where they want to go in life. This was most definitely the case with me.
Journalism to me is about making an impact on this world. It is thrilling, addictive and never fails to get my heart rate up. Journalism is being a part of something that could be history and could change the world, a life, many or none. Journalism is for those who want every day to be different to the next and not know what each day will hold.
My name is Sophie and I am a 4th year International Hospitality Management student at RGU. I was lucky enough to attend the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland conference recently which was such an inspiring day!
So it’s officially winter and we have now entered the festive season, I’m sure most of you will be eagerly awaiting the holidays as I did when I was studying. When I was a student I would take time for myself between studying so that I had time to relax and unwind from the stress of it all. My favourite thing to do was go for a long walk, with friends or family members and of course my little dog Lucy. (more…)
On Oct 6, we had our first Open Day. Visitors came to our campus to find out more about our courses and facilities at RGU. We had training the day before so we were clued up on what to expect on the day such as safety, event timings, and duties. (more…)
I would have to say that there has been a lot of ‘best bits’ of studying at RGU. I’ve met a lot of really good friends and different people throughout the 4 years in Aberdeen and the freedom of being a Uni student has been a lot of fun! (more…)
So soon I will be graduating from RGU hopefully with a degree in Management with Marketing. The last three years with RGU have been amazing and I will be graduating with fond memories as my time as a student. As it is a month until graduation there are a few details I am considering in preparation for the big day and you should too! (more…)
It’s that time of year again! Summer is approaching and many of you will be graduating this year. Some of you will already have secured jobs or have a clear idea of what you are doing or where you want to be. However a large minority of you will be, like myself at the time absolutely clueless as to what your next move will be and the only thing you will have planned is where you are going on holiday. (more…)
I thought for this post I would introduce some of my favourite Erasmus experiences over the last month. I still find it crazy how the time has flown by and that I’ve now been living in Finland for over a month and the two-month mark is fast approaching. I’m really starting to feel like I’m getting to know where I’m based and easing into my new way of life, so I thought I would give you an insight into the typical first month of Erasmus.
