How to deal with Homesickness

Ever since I have left my country, visits back have gradually decreased. There have been periods of 6 months of not seeing friends and family from home. But regardless of how long you need to wait till you go home, it will always feel like a stretch. Some periods of time are worse than others, however, after being in Scotland for over two years now, I’d like to share some things I do to avoid feeling as homesick. (more…)

What am I preparing for the Pre-Degree Show of fourth year Contemporary Art Practice?

Since third year I have been taking Polaroid photographs of myself to prepare for my fourth year degree show. Sometimes I would take breaks from this project but I would always go back to it. In the morning, I would wake up, reach for my Fuji Instax camera and take my photograph before even looking in the mirror. I would do the same thing before going to bed at night. Each time I would not adjust how I look or pose but just simply look at the camera. Each photograph is of raw emotion and documents the changes in myself.

My placement with Matrix

I’m Lauren, a third year Management with Marketing student at Robert Gordon University. At the start of February I began a 12 week part time placement with Matrix Risk Control as a marketing assistant.
