Clearing at RGU – Tehillah’s story

Tehillah shares his experience applying to RGU via Clearing and advice for applicants wishing to do the same.

Why did you apply through Clearing?

I applied through Clearing because I wasn’t accepted in the course I chose, which was in Engineering. However, at this point I wasn’t even sure I was going to stick to it as it wasn’t something that interested me anymore.

I found the course I am currently enrolled in, Architectural Technology, and from what I initially saw, it looked like a course that would interest me. That’s when I decided to choose it and I’m really glad I did! I managed to achieve first-class honours so I’m pretty happy with the decision.

How did you find the Clearing experience?

I found the Clearing experience to be quite straightforward. The Admissions team guided me through the process and consistently updated me. I was quite worried at first that I would be behind when I was applying since I did apply very late, but in all honesty, I didn’t miss a beat and it was all seamless from there, from student funding to the first week.

Do you have any advice for others considering to apply through Clearing?

I would say, really don’t panic. It’s okay to go through Clearing. You gain the same experience as everyone else at the University, and you might find something you DO enjoy like I did.

Why did you choose RGU?

I chose RGU because I had friends that really recommended it and I had seen that the course I had chosen was highly regarded in comparison to other universities. Also, the University’s ability to get people ready for employment after graduation is something that mattered a lot to me.

What was the highlight of your time at RGU?

I would say meeting great people I can call friends and sharing the university experience with them, from the late nights studying to planning meet-ups outside of university. I had a great group of classmates too and we helped each other out during the course.

The work experience I gained while at RGU was amazing too. The exposure for the work that we did was second to none since we had opportunities to talk to alumni that worked in the field we were studying.
