5 reasons why BSc (Hons) Accounting is right for you

If you are a part-qualified accountant with relevant work experience, Robert Gordon University’s BSc (Hons) Accounting top-up degree can help you to fast-track your career in accounting. This 12-month top-up degree will help you advance your practical knowledge with academic underpinning.

Sound of interest? Here are just five reasons why BSc (Hons) Accounting at RGU could be the right choice for you:

1. Gain a degree in just 12 months

Our course is a top-up degree, meaning you can achieve your Honours degree in just 12 months. You will study a range of modules relating to both accounting and wider business areas. This includes organisational strategy, innovation and enterprise, and an accounting specific capstone project.

2. Study whilst you work full-time

As BSc (Hons) Accounting is delivered 100% online, students can continue to work full-time and fit their studies around existing work and life commitments. This means you can gain your degree without the need for a career break.

3. Boost your existing qualifications

This course is ideal for part-qualified accountants who want to add an honours degree qualification to their existing professional qualification. You must have successfully completed the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting, the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (along with three from six of the Applied Knowledge level papers (F4-F9)), or an equivalent professional accounting qualification, in conjunction with 2 years of significant and relevant full time work experience.

4. Tailor your studies

You will have the choice to complete an accounting-focused dissertation on a relevant area of your choice or complete a business consultancy project. This means you can tailor your studies to your future career aspirations.

5. Benefit from fully-funded or reduced course fees*

BSc (Hons) Accounting now includes a fully funded or reduced fee option. If you are a Scottish resident this means you may no longer be liable to pay fees and could qualify to have your fees fully funded by SAAS. Alternatively, as a Scottish resident you may qualify for significantly reduced course fees.

*Both funding options are subject to eligibility.

“The support and course delivery from RGU has been fantastic and I would recommend this course to anyone looking to advance their career in accounting.”
