Amazing right?

RGU offers a stunning, modern campus with a beautiful view of the River Dee creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Although not in the city centre, RGU is easily accessible – whether you are driving or taking the bus – or even walking! The campus spans across seven buildings allowing for a variety of courses working within each different one. – Georgia

I never had a huge group of friends in high school, just a few people who I got on really well with. It was difficult to be yourself sometimes because people can be a bit intimidating at that age. After coming to RGU, I have met some of the most amazing people and made so many friends. The girls in my current flat have made the transition from home to uni a breeze, they are all really different and so lovely. The students on my course are just brilliant as well – it’s great that everyone can be different in their own way and not feel judged or shy about it. During classes everyone is so supportive and compassionate towards each other that it doesn’t even feel like a lecture, just like one big session in which we can all share our thoughts and experiences and listen to one another. I feel really cared for and listened to by these girls, and I couldn’t be more grateful. – Emma

Since coming to RGU, I have been able to speak to people from all over the globe and it’s amazing to see just how like-minded we all were; this allowed for us all to get on very well with one another. – Georgia

Careers and Employability Centre

I have been very lucky to have the opportunity to work with the career advisers on the development of my CV for the placement process. They have been extremely helpful with reviewing the content and layout of such a key part of the process. I can safely say my CV would be no where near as good without their help.  – Georgia

RGU: Union is RGU’s Student Association. The Union is here to represent all RGU Students and make your student life at RGU the best it can be! They offer support in mental health, offer volunteering opportunities and societies for you to join! Our student presidents in 2017/2018 are Michael Ife, Kerry Harrison and Eilidh Paterson. Joining the union can help add to and improve your CV. If you can’t find a society suitable for you, why not try setting up one of your own? The Union is happy to help! – Katie

My course at RGU allows us to do clinical placements throughout the year, all over Scotland. So far I have been to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, Caithness General Hospital in Wick and Dr. Gray’s in Elgin. I really enjoyed my placements as they gave me some first-hand experiences of what midwives do, and all of the staff I met were so kind and welcoming. RGU has very good connections with the hospitals, which makes organising placements that bit easier. The university has been assigned 3 specific regions; NHS Highlands and Islands, NHS Grampian and NHS Tayside, and student midwives can choose the region in which they would prefer to be placed. During my placement at Caithness General, some difficulties arose which meant I then had to finish my placement in a different hospital, and within 2 days RGU had sorted for me a new location and mentor, and reimbursed me for my accommodation and transport. I think it’s fantastic that RGU gives the opportunity for placements all over Scotland, because it not only gives us the chance to work with qualified midwives but also allows us to travel, meet new people and learn a lot more! – Emma

My best year at RGU was my placement year! In third year I was interviewed for a copywriting assistant’s role with the RGU marketing team at Schoolhill. I was over the moon but nervous at the same time! There was definitely nothing to be nervous about as everyone welcomed me with open arms. I settled in straight away and felt like part of the team in an instant. Over the course of the year I had so many great experiences and opportunities, I couldn’t believe where the year had gone. I learned a lot about the marketing field and was given lots of task to work on both independently and with a team. I would highly suggest a placement as it could be the best thing you ever do at Uni! – Katie
